Electrochemical Rubidium Storage Behavior of Graphite in Ionic Liquid Electrolyte

Electrochemical intercalation behaviors of alkali metals into graphite have been vigorously studied in academic and industrial fields, whereas their mechanisms are still unclarified. In this study, we report a novel rubidium-ion battery utilizing an ionic liquid electrolyte natural as the negative electrode material operating at room temperature. The electrochemical phase evolution behavior rubidium–graphite compounds was elucidated using X-ray diffraction. exhibited initial discharge capacity 216 mAh g−1 0.05 C rate, retained its capacities around 180 even 0.5 rate for 50 cycles.

An aluminum metal, both native and with a very thin oxide film, was investigated as an anode for aluminum-ion batteries. Investigations were carried out in an acidic ionic liquid electrolyte, composed of AlCl3 in 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([EMIm]Cl), with β-MnO2/C as a cathode.
